Pool
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)
A measure of all dissolved minerals in pool water — when TDS climbs above 3,000 ppm, water clarity, chemical efficiency, and scaling worsen.
Arizona's hard tap water adds 200–500 ppm to TDS per refill, so evaporation-heavy summers push pool TDS up fast. When TDS hits 3,000+ ppm, salt-system pools struggle, plaster scales, and chlorine becomes less effective. Typical fix: partial drain and refill every 2–3 years.
