Solar Pool Heater

Roof or ground-mounted polymer collectors that circulate pool water through tubes warmed by sunlight — cheapest to operate, slowest to heat.

Solar pool heating is essentially free once installed ($3,500–$6,000), but only works during sunny daytime hours. In Arizona, a properly-sized solar array can extend the swim season by 6–10 weeks on either end, with no operating cost. Pair with a gas or heat-pump backup for evening swims.
