A natural gas or propane burner that heats pool water fast — best for on-demand heating, expensive to run continuously.
Gas heaters (Pentair MasterTemp, Jandy LXi, Hayward H-Series) raise pool temperature 1–2°F per hour on a typical residential pool. Expect $250K–$400K BTU sizing for a Valley pool. Running cost is high — $8–$20/hour in natural gas — but they work in any weather and heat fast.
