The umbrella term for any architectural fire element — bowls, pits, fireplaces, fire-and-water spillways, or torch-style columns.
When designing a backyard, place fire features where you actually sit — adjacent to the pool, off the kitchen, or in a defined conversation pit. A fire feature visible from inside the house extends usable hours and the visual season far longer than one tucked at the back of the yard.
