Cartridge Filter

A pool filter that uses pleated fabric cartridges to trap debris down to 10–20 microns, the modern Arizona default.

Cartridge filters (Pentair Clean & Clear Plus, Jandy CV, Hayward SwimClear) have replaced DE and sand filters on nearly every new AZ pool. They're more efficient, easier to clean (hose them off twice a season), and waste no backwash water — critical in a state with mandatory drought-stage restrictions.
