Quarried limestone with cooler surface temperatures and a high-end natural look.
Manufactured pavers with consistent color, shape and predictable installed pricing.
A higher-end option worth considering — extreme durability and modern aesthetics.
Yes. Light travertine (Silver, Ivory) typically runs 15–25°F cooler than dark concrete pavers in full Phoenix sun. Light-colored concrete pavers can close that gap to about 5–10°F.
Both last 25+ years installed properly. Travertine is harder but more prone to chipping at edges; concrete pavers are more uniform and easier to replace one-at-a-time if a unit fails.
Installed travertine typically runs $14–$22/sqft in the Valley; concrete pavers $11–$17/sqft. Premium porcelain pavers can exceed both at $18–$28/sqft.
Cool surface temperature wins barefoot summers. For patios, walkways and large driveways where cost matters more, concrete pavers are the better value.
